Yuri - "Whispers of the North" has always done the same for me. But I envision winter work - snowshoeing, postholing when caught without,the rythmic "sink 1/3" and not thow snow up on your mackinaw with foot lifts.
Whenever I hear it I think of my favourite winter treks and use it to get excited about packing gear the night before.
You're right - it works for me as a canoeist , too. I can picture flat water rythmic paddling with a beaver-tail bent-shaft paddle; deliberate and paced for the long haul. My particular imaginary picture of that seems to work best for a stillwater lake, or flatwater slow and lazy mornin' river, followed by the rythmic paddling you mention.
Sure are good memories.
