Fade outs were a 60's and 70's must for AM radio. Songs were generally recorded as longer pieces, but in order to be radio friendly, they were cut by fading. Songs that are faded also makes it easier on DJ's
for obvious reasons. A song had to be a real smash to escape these restrictions, i.e.
Hotel California, American Pie, Free Bird,
Paradise by the Dashboard Light, etc. Fade outs or no fade outs, doesn't matter to me, whatever works for the particular song.
