thanks once again to you and Aengus for producing this show for Lightfoot fans (or just any fan of wonderful performing talent)

i can't single out anyone in fairness to this group of artists because i should be gushing at length over ALL who performed and relayed their great tales of Gord

but just halfway through Dave Gunning's killer performance of Shadows (joined by Anne Lindsay's superb, haunting fiddle accompaniment) i said to myself "wow, this was SO worth coming"

and that was only the 3rd song of the evening, lol

i think GL's quiet attendance, also spoke to how much this event means to the local (and beyond) Gord and 'folk' community (how can it be labelled 'folk' after seeing some of those performances, lol)

i was also excited to see Jenney Whiteley live for the first time, what a prize she is... because i really think some of the women who i know here should get a chuckle out of the lyrics, here's a shameless (i'm in no way connected to her) plug and give a link to her tune/video of Needle In A Haystack (scroll down a bit to find it) http://www.cmt.com/artists/az/whitel...y/artist.jhtml

to come, a lengthy review by char/jenney i'd hope

there were still seats for Sunday and standing room (or barstool room, if you're lucky like me and Gord, lol) for tonight last i heard, get over there if you can, not for anyone's sake other than your own

edit: and it goes without saying (which is exactly what i did, lol!) how great it was to see char and jenney and to even meet ron jones, from all the way out west!) ...behave

btw, here's the website for last minute tix http://www.hughsroom.com/ where there are links to each performing artist's sites also
