It was quite a surprise when I found out about it. I always thought he had a good voice although the only 2 songs I can ever remember him singing are 'Troubador' and 'Don't take your guns to town son'. But I also remember watching an episode on 'Columbo' where he plays as a singer who crashes a plane and kills his annoying wife. I don't know anything else about him though.
