OK OK
we will NOT be in chat this evening because we will be sitting (holding our binoculars and noses) in the very back row of the circle at
the State Theater in New Brunswick NJ hoping to be able to see Peter Yarrow, Noel Paul Stookey and Mary Travers in concert.

PP&M singing "Early Morning Rain" in 1966
I think this will be a first for me (although we did see "Peter and Paul" at Oceon Grove NJ last summer) see my report at:-
http://www.corfid.com/ubb/ultimatebb...=003392#000000
and I passed the trio at London Airport on 6 april 1966 as I was about to walk out to my plane to Montreal and they were
arriving for UK concerts.
Anyway last week I had a terrible lag problem in Anne's "Chatzy" room.
And I resolved to try to find another alternative Javascript based set up to add to my own web site.I had already found another free Javascript based room setup at:-
http://www.qwadchat.com
and had tried it out a bit.I especially liked its ability to use HTML and had made a screenshot showing that I could display in the chatroom my own picture

screenshot made on April 19th in fact
But on that occasion I just could not simulate two chatters chatting together
This week I got as far as using the room by 2 computers each on separate telephine lines and two dufferent ISPs and made this screenshot

but could again not get the text from both of myself to appear at the same time on both monitors.
But as you can see it shows promise.
It requires just one simple link html file only
I will try again next week because th greatadvantage of using Javascript is of course that it then obviates the need to install either mIRC or, after upgrading to a non-Java Virtual Machine equipped browser, the large Sun Microsytems Java Runtime file in order to use our previous great dilexnet.net room
Ok so we will be missing the fun later today, but no doubt other regulars will be at:-
http://www.chatzy.com/885842072610 :-
revised more complete intructions are simply:-
1.click that link
2.enter your nickname.
3.Select the colo(u)r that you would like your text entries to appear in then
3.enter this password Harmony.
but note that the password is case sensitive so make sure you use a capital "H'.
"harmony" all in lower case will not cut the mustard.
4 press the "enter room" button
5 the room should open
6.ignore the "write message" button (whatever you write disappears after you ....)
7 Press the "join chat" button instead
8 then type your opening salutation in the box at the bottom
9 press the"OK" button
at 9pm EST this evening
Have fun
John Fowles
P.S.After his magnum opus at:-
http://www.corfid.com/ubb/ultimatebb...176;p=1#000037
I reckon Steve Dunbar (geodeticman) will fit in well and could then chat to his fellow colo(u)radans Brink and Coloradosue if they are in
