Now this is something to look out for and thanks Char for bringing this to "LIGHT." I remember those shows well and they left me with a great impression. I saw Johnny Cash as some
kind of a visionary who had the insight, and in spite of the difficulties he had to deal with in his life, he pulled off an act that turned heads in this world. I had the opportunity to see him live when he came to Newfoundland in 1958 and performed at a Military establishment called Buckmaster's Field. Just a little backgrounder; (when the war ended in 1945 there were still several American bases still operating in Newfoundland until they eventually were phased out.) The show Johnny Cash did was an experience that left me with a deep appreciation for those who make that choice to go out there and just do it and clearly it is not always an easy task. As Gord says "Remember the Burden of Fame," The place was packed and he was late coming on stage but no one complained when he finally arrived with the Tennessee Two. The place went wild. It was obvious that in those days times were difficult for him but he pulled off one hell of a show. I would always ensure that when the "Johnny Cash Show" came on TV my eyes were glued to the screen, and what a joy it is to know that we just may have the privilege to see those performances again.
