congrats on a wonderful piece of work, stunning (and i haven't even fully digested all the tracks but i just finished hanging on every one of JP's passionate words in the CD booklet)
i trekked to the city last night and as i entered Hugh's Room i got a pleasant nod and hi as i walked in... i belatedly realized it was JP (with a shorter haircut than i'd seen in the past)
i'm certain his versions of HFTF, CRT and especially his personal tribute tune impressed everyone (he'd appeared a bit nervous before going on) ...can't blame him, GL was there in person, lol... he made me nervous also 'cos initially he was seated directly in front of me and about 6 other stragglers (lol) in the dark, cheap seats/stools (humble as can be, just like JP articulated for us all in his wonderful linear notes)

btw, Gord looked really healthy and also content that most folks were letting him have his peace and take in the tribute artist, i'm so glad he stayed for the tribute 'anchor man', JP

i was just thinking that within the last 24 hours i will have had the pleasure of listening (i love new arrangements of almost any sort) to about 30 new GL covers ...of which a whopping 18 are by JP...wish all artist's CDs had that many tracks

oh, a great line by JP on stage last night (i'm sure our wordsmiths, char and jenney will review the gig fully asap)... JP says (paraphrasing):

"yeah, being a songwriter is great...i get $20 for each of these tribute CD's i sell ...and Gord get's $25 of it"
LOL

IMO, any Lightfoot fan really should order this gem
(know i know why those plastic, thin boxes are called 'jewel' cases, eh)

cheers
