Been away for a while and need to respond to the baseball stuff. Before we go any further, let me disclose that I am a diehard Yankee fan.

Hey watch out!

Now that I've dodg(er)ed the rotten tomatoes, let me make a few comments.

Char - you're lucky that you have David Wells up in Toronto. I for one certainly opposed the Wells-for-Clemens swap. Wells was is a guy you can root for -- like the current edition of the Yankees -- nice guys without huge egos who really try hard.

As for Atlanta winning nine titles? I don't think so. How about 1? That is, unless second place is good enough. (Sorry, that's my Yankee side speaking through 25 titles, even more than Les Habs up in Montreal.)

As for Steinbrenner, at least he's mellowed. As for him merely buying teams, four of our superstars (Bernie Williams, Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada) and several others are home-grown, not purchased in trades. The Braves have bought just as many players as the Yanks. As for the horses, never heard about the mistreatment but if it's true, it's loathsome. I'm a horse-owner myself (for my wife and daughter tho -- I don't ride but I like "Daq" (short for "Nasdaq")).

Anyway, Gord can sing the National Anthem (either one, or both) anytime he wants up at the House that Ruth Built, whether or not he will wear a Yankees jacket.

Had my say. Don't hate me just cause I had World Series tix.

LOL (please).
