Re: The Way We Feel tribute shows at HUGH'S ROOM-Toronto-2015
Well, I'll tell ya; after that you felt like going out the door, jump on the first bus and tell the driver to head out to the highway and just go straight to Alberta non stop.
What a monumental weekend it was at Hugh's Room!
These events are turning into what might an extension of ""Gord's Gold."
He's coming out to them regularly along with his talented daughter, Meredith who is blossoming into a very fine singer, songwriter and quite comfortable with her guitar work.
There was a host of wonderful artists on the bill and they sure did make their mark as far as interpreting Gord's songs.
Char will be putting up more video when she works them through. And Char, along with her sweet daughter, Lisa worked non stop taking notes and doing video work etc.
Hugh's Room is a very unique place. Very informal, very relaxing. I like to hang out at the bar close to the entrance and many of the performers gather in that area when they are preparing for their turn to appear on stage. When they're done they tend to drift back there and that's a nice opportunity to have a chat with them.
With the focus of course being on the works of Gordon Lightfoot a common bond is automatically created with everyone there and the presence of the Man sitting among us, together with his new beautiful Bride, the right atmosphere is automatic.
Serious work goes into these kind of productions though and folks like Jory Nash, Bernie Fiedler deserve mention and with talented host David Newland up there making the introductions the right recipe makes the evening flow like a steady stream.
The Gord New Year of 2015 is off to big start.
