Default Re: Bells of the Evening - Uncle Putin

Dear friends.

That experience last weekend in Orillia seems to keep manifesting in my brain as there were so many wonderful moments that are now unfolding and I want to share this one especially.

When Karen Hilfman Millson, the former minister of Gord's hometown church came to the stage and talked about Gord, the interviews she did with him; how one could see the inspirations that brought out some of the treasured moments in his songs that talked about in his early life living in Orillia, a host of thoughts came back to me.

Marian from the Mountains and I took the more scenic route from Toronto town and as we began to approach Orillia the autumn tree colors shone out between the steeples of the many churches that stand tall in Orillia.

The thought came to me and I mentioned to Mar that I could see exactly now how Gord would come to write a song about church bells and how the sounds of the resonating of them could inspire a song like "Bells of the Evening."

Now I can't get the song out of my head, but then again, why would I want to? Such a beautiful and powerful song with the utmost of simplicity and effectiveness.
