Re: Shirley Temple 1928-2014 R.I.P.
No to brag in a thread such as this but yes,I did write all of that myself.
In the past I've sometimes used articles but in this case (as for most) I used mhy own words. Of course,if I do use any in the future,I'll certainly post a link. I usually find out about the famous on IMDB or else the world news on TV.
I'm going home later and watch my copy of "The Littlest Rebel". Funny thing,
Bill Robinson's movie "Stormy Weather" was just on that new "MOVIES" channel, about 48 hours before I heard about Shirley.
Spooky.
JJ - Shirley did have breast cancer but she encouraged women out their to be brave and smart about it and get tested often. She came through it wonderfully.
I recall seeing her interview on 60 minutes in the 1970s,when she
became an ambassador. Being a kid,I couldn't beleive it was the same person.
Funny how we get an indelible image of a person one way
and find it hard to comprhend later when they age or look different.
P.S - A Rest In Peace out to Sid Caeser from yesterday as well.
