This timeline mentions that Jack Klugman attended the famous Melbourne Cup horse race in 1985. I remember watching him interviewed live on TV at the Melbourne Cup, I think later than 1985, and he was just as down-to-earth as in "The Odd Couple". And as the (pre-Cup) race behind him finished, he grinned at the camera and revealed "I had money on that horse!"
