Maybe the quitting smoking was also part of the joke. Lol
Here it is:

(exactly as I had already quoted Jimbo from that very same posting)
But. But ,But Dan and I obviously were not the only ones here who took that comment by Char seriously (if optimistically) as being gospel and hoped it was not part of a joke see in the same thread:-...

I have in mind getting a device for Gord that certainly helped me in the early days: Admiittedly I was still in a UK hospital recovering from my stroke so no chance of a quick drag, although here was an open rooftop area where ashtrays were provided.
Giving up is certainly no joke:-
There are two problems when giving up
1 The obvious withdrawal symptons due to the lack of nicotine,
2 What to do with your hands accustomed as they will be to holding a cigarette
But I had a UK made Nicorette "Inhalator" that substitutes a cigarette holder like gubbins with a nicotine release cartridge
as one website puts it:-
The NICORETTE Inhalator, sometimes known as the Inhaler, keeps your hands busy, so if you are likely to miss the hand-to-mouth habit of smoking then this is most suitable for you.
I have done some research online and found that in the States and Canada it seems to be only available on prescription but is being sold by "Over The Counter" in shops and on websites in the UK and New Zealand such as
http://www.westonshealth.co.uk/acata....html#aNIC523Y

see also a free offer at:-

In the end I used one for about three months but my stroke expert doctor advised against it because my blood clotting problem could well be aggravated by nicotine, and naturally I did not want a second stroke. In fact after coming over to New Jersey we found that I had been perilously close to a heart attack anyway so giving up was definitely one of my life's better decisions
I am extremely happy to report and can now honestly aver that in twelve smoke free years I have very very rarely even thought about lighting up, and although I must admit fhat my full sense of smell has never come back I shudder when I detect the stench of smoking on somebody's breath and am often surprised to realise that I can tell if somebody coming into my vicinity has been recently smoking. Yet like other smokers I felt when i was smoking that others could not tell
Here endeth today's sermon with apologies for yet again pushing this product
An earlier speil from me is at:-
http://www.corfid.com/vbb/showpost.p...1&postcount=10
which includes a link to a website down under
http://www.nicorette.com.au/product_inhaler.cfm
which describes the
Nicorette inhaler system

"The nicotine inhaler allows you to mimic the hand-to-mouth motions of smoking"
A small picture of the kit as found on:-

Late breaking news
I think it will be cheaper to buy some supplies from the UK source I gave before but it can apparently be bought without a prescription (albeit renamed Nicotrol) in Canada see:-
