Default Review Wheeling, West Virginia Concert

It was one of those magical nights that you only dream of.

I went down with my boy and his friend, who are HUGE GL fans (both 15 years old).

The last time we saw him was in Tiffen, Ohio in October of 2010, so this was the first time we saw Carter Lancaster.

What really impressed me the most was GL's voice. Tremendous improvement over the past couple of years. No, he does not sound like Gord from the 80's, but he does sound GOOD. Big differnce. He sounds like Gord again.

I do not have a set list (too busy taking pics which Char will post for me). Hilights for me were CRT, Don Quxote, In My Fashion, and on, and on, and on. I cannot stress enough how good he sounded.

We hung around way late after the show, waiting for everyone to come out, and it was worth the wait. Had a chance to speak with everyone, including Gord. It was so "neat" to see my son Joseph ask Gord a question about guitars, and Gord patiently answered him... My son was on "cloud 9", but I think Gord enjoyed answering a question from a teenager also.

Gord seems very content...very happy.

It was the first time that I was able to speak with the whole band. These gentleman seem to enjoy their life work, and it shows in their performance.

Carter Lancaster was a treat to meet. He was very open and honest... I thought he sounded great and I can only see him getting better and used to his new surroundings.

All in all, what a night. If you have a chance to see the "man", by all means do so. You never know if you will get that chance again.
