I agree with you.Todays' music is lousy,in my opinion.The kids don't even know who THE MAN is.They don't know what music sounded like
back when you could listen to it,and still hear yourself think.

One thing for sure... my kids know who Gordon Lightfoot is. Dan sang IYCRMM at his graduation, with me doing the guitar. The song brought tears to the eyes of many of his female classmates, and his principal, a 55 year old woman, just sat there in awe. Nobody knew Dan could sing. And every now and then I hear Matt attempt to play the lead to Wreck.
