Mom's brother, Sonny, used to sing Hank Snow songs, and he did them very well. He was probably one of the most musically talented men I've ever known. He played a very old Gibson guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, and played all of them well. I was just mesmerized by his music when I was a child. Sadly, he had to have his index finger on his left hand amputated, and gave his guitar to his son, hoping he'd carry on in his footsteps. The kids an idiot, though. He sold the 1960-ish Gibson to a pawn shop for $100. Just think what that guitar would be worth now!

I know someone who plays guitar with half of her middle finger missing. It's not her picking hand. She plays quite well.
