The concert began about 7:40 in the Alabama Theatre to a pretty good crowd. Wearing his black jeans, white shirt & red jacket, Mr. Lightfoot came out and got down to business. He was in better voice than when I heard him earlier this year in Winston-Salem. The band was introduced before they played Watchman. I got tickled at him talking about putting Home From the Forest back in rotation. He referred to it as a sad song - damn sad. He sounded especially good on Make Way for the Lady. Something was bothering him - stuffy head or something & he offhandedly attibuted it to flying. He spoke of the length of his career & the number of albums made, about use of the capo, and being a folksinger. He spoke of how they are busy these days and how much they enjoy the work. Finally, he named the behind the scenes guys who handle lights & sound, concert promotions, etc.
