Default Re: Nelly Furtado, Great Big Sea, INXS to play at Olympics

Stuffed if I know who will do the vocals for INXS ..quick Billy Hall here's your chance to be a rock star !!!

Excerpt from Local radio blog follows :
************************************************** *************
"Hello JD Fortune, wherever you are. We’ve got some news for you – the rest of INXS are heading your way!

It was announced overnight that INXS, whatever that might mean these days, will be one of the acts performing during the medal presentations at next year’s Winter Olympics in Canada [home of one-time INXS singer, JD Fortune].

INXS will be joining a bunch of other legendary acts such as – cough-cough! – Loverboy, Barenaked Ladies and a whole lot of other Canadian acts that we’ve never heard of … with the exception of the rather spunky Nelly Furtado.

Of course, a version of INXS performed only last week in Sydney at the Pride of Australia awards. Let’s hope they find a better singer than Andrew Farriss before the Winter Olympics kick off next February. "

a) Apologies to the Barenaked Ladies (and Canadians ) for the slur above from that journo/ kid with the taste in his you know what - that particular band get jealousy from down here all the time -too talented probably ....

b) IMO we have no capable and available choices here in Aus . The bloke who sang for them at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney (Jon Stevens ) is just now recovering from emergency heart surgery from a week or so ago so I'd say he is a no go.

The whole thang here (including the live version performed at the 2000 Olympics with said heart patient crooning):
