It is my understanding that Gord was backstage at The Band's Last Waltz concert at Winterland in San Francisco on Thanksgiving 1976.

Apparently he was asked to perform, but felt he did not have enough time to rehearse.

Last night I watched The Last Waltz again, this time paying attention to the background, to see if I might catch him hanging out watching the show. I didn't see him.

Does anyone know more about this? It's too bad he didn't play, would have been a lot better then Neil Diamond (sorry to all Neil Dimond fans)
