Default Re: Canadian Folk At Borealis Music

fun stuff, Yuri...another useful place is here at http://www.ocff.ca/services/folk_prints.html ..this year's convention in Ottawa just came and went ) ...Taylor Mitchell has just had the weekend of her short life there before she left, totally exhausted, for her venues out east...i remember reading that particular blog of hers "go folk yourself"

anyhow, the event is great for selecting talent for the variety of house concerts and talent series presented in towns across the province...i just missed catching Wendell Ferguson and Kath Wheatley

btw, i credit Wendell with deflating my ambitions to learn how to play guitar 'properly' YouTube- CANTERBURY FOLK FESTIVAL--JULY-2009--INGERSOLL--ONTARIO--WENDELL & KATHERINE

and then I went to my fave american site Woodsongs for some browsing, only to have Tommy totally deflate me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hU-3_...eature=related
I do appreciate but don't enjoy busy arrangements, however when he comes back to the more 'calm' signature hook, i just love that rich sound

sorry to highjack the thread, yuri! for a broader genre of Canuck talent, you might want get on the http://www.maplemusic.com/start.asp mailing list...can't keep up with all that indy talent...it's a tough road
