Q245 ....old Mexico 2nd Clue: Goodby 3rd: goodby, goodby in 'old Mexico' - Remains Unanswered -I should have called it a rarity, but was unsure because its listed in Lighfoot.ca, under regular 'Lyrics and Chords'

note: for most technical support calls (satellite, internet, Bell phone, new gadget support, etc) I actually have to spell JONES...then when I receive follow up paperwork it's typically spelled JOHNS...either I mumble or i suppose these folks have overapplied the silent E rule

Howdy jj - and hoping your Holidays, and everone's were fine.
As I mentioned above in reply to Ron, I'm surprised they get Jones wrong....
I guess the off shore phone center countries do not have Jones as a common name in their country. But its also a matter of listening when you spell it out.
Oh well.
Thanks for replying on a few songs remaining.
I think I have not posted in near two weeks, and for a game thread, that is not very courteous of me. The Holidays hit me a little harder than I expected. Well - here's to ongoing quizzers, other Q & A threads, and all threads in general !
jj -your game submissions as follows, first :
Q238 ....motor.... Remains unanswered. 2nd clue is: not allowed over in USA, on some radio stations.
> motor city madness > Black Day in July
In short, you got it !
BTW - you guys listen to Ted Nugent back when you were a teenager and beyond ? - He had a song I recall on his classic 'Hey Baby" album called 'Motor City Madness' - a head-banger hard clean rock song, no wah-wah pedals et al for him - course he's kinda nuts at first, then as you listen to his hunting cable shows, as he nears 60, he is quite the conservative turn-around, NRA and all. But then as far as the song - he was out of Detroit anyway, could be coincidence. Great hard rock from days gone by for me.
So jj you got Q238, then:
Q243 To understand
> try to understand the feelings that you lack > IYCYMM
Clue was: To understand.... . Oh those ole' dots. Thats the only thing that makes this otherwise working answer just a notch off. The capital T on 'To' indicates, as it is not a proper noun, and preceeded by no dots, that the verse starts with 'To understand....' , unlike IYCRMM - which uses it at end of verse as follows:
.....between the lines you'll know that I'm just trying
to understand
Oh well - very close and good shot at it.
Then,
Q245 ....old Mexico
..... its listed in Lighfoot.ca, under regular 'Lyrics and Chords'
> ok, toughie, but Hashed it out by going to that chord section to sift and came across it in the first song listed: >
Adios, Adios
Thats it, you got it jj, 2 out of three is good.
So, that leaves, with ten new clues waiting in the wings:

I might skip strory clues next ten. But
this remained as well:
SQ1 Story clue - Remains unsolved
2nd clue Solve it by rhyme or
reason . And -..... in shades of twilight 1st clue:
He still sort of loves her, but wants her to be happy moreso than necessarily love him, if she needs him at a certain time of day , he'll be there for her, but if for any reason she wants him to leave, he'll be on a train outta there. - Ron gave a good crack at it with:
'If You Need Me' but... its got to have a train in it..... see 2nd clue(s)
NOTE: -The first two story clues went well enough, but I can see great ambiguity in story clues; less fun maybe. I'll drop 'em if you guys want to ?
~all songs by Gordon Lightfoot
except Q245: by 'Lightfoot & Ruth Hash'
OK calling it a finished set here, the last 2 remaining must have been poorly-chosen clues by me.
Congratulations on the final round to all ! I have ten more new ones below !
Thanks for playing, everybody. I hope all your Holidays were fine.
