I had a little Panasonic transistor radio I saved up for when I was just a kid; for years that radio went everywhere I did...once I was sitting on a bridge, bumped it, and it fell about 30 feet into the river below. Ran down, waded in and found it. Brought it home, dried it out, and it still worked like a charm. That poor radio suffered all kinds of mistreatment...left it in the back window of the car one very hot July afternoon, and the plastic casing warped...had to use two thick rubber bands to hold it together so the battery would stay put. I have to hand it to Panasonic...that baby was built to last.
And I can still remember how it felt hearing "Sundown" coming out of that little speaker....
