hi vanessa, sr member here...

just a note regarding the challenge of painting those guitar strings....i don't know if it works as well with oils but I would use this tool (pic of a ruling pen) when trying to paint something fine with acrylics...you just load in a bit of paint with your brush and then adjust the tension knob until it will run ever so slowly as you take it along side of a raised straight edge rule ...it's probably meant as a draftman's tool for final ink versions
