Default Re: Gales of November - 1913

I was at 'Sauble Beach' Ont, in August. Nice view of the lake from the cottages, when my sister told me that it was Lake Huron, that I was looking at. Immediately you know what came to my mind... "The Wreck" of course, & the lyrics...

"Lake Huron rolls Superior sings in the rooms of her ice-water mansion."

Smart man that Lightfoot, cause when I first heard the song in 1976, when I bought my "Summertime Dream" LP...

I noticed right away when "The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald" started to play, and I was following the words to the song... that this genius made sure, all 5 Great Lakes were mentioned in there.

I told my Ontario relatives that, but to them it was no big thing... other than my brother in law that said "Oh Really, Gordon Lightfoot eh ! How old is he now anyway?"

I said just about your age MAN !

Henry my brother in law turned "69," August 1st of this year. I said Gordon Lightfoot will be 70 this November 17th.

They just dont get it !!!
