Jesse Joe, I'm sorry I must have actually overlooked your post when I wrote Ron's winning Q115....don't know.... answer for IYCRMM, despite the ambiguous case. As I know you are allready aware, even given this odd case of my not seeing your
AND John's non-game post, Ron still wins it fair and square. The reason for writing this post is two-fold:
*Its a good illustrative case of the clue 'dots' factor to explain why your case would not work the way the games rules developed ( the dots are definitive as to where the clue word(s) can fit in the 'verse' of the song.
*Secondly, - to apologize for not responding in posted order. Lets go there
first. I can't figure out when I logged in and clicked on this thread's 'last page' -
I saw a fleeting glimpse of John's name and yours as I logged in and clicked 'last page' of this thread...thought I saw your names...thinking to myself 'hey great! some new players in the game'...then oddly, when the ostensibly current or 'last page' came up, all I saw was RM's - Ron's winning post for
Q115. Weird. I am awaiting a third surgery for my eyes, from damage several years back in one of the ...accidents..causes crossed eyes in me. . but I have never had "fleeting, dissappearing things I could not see" . Don;t know if thats it, no matter, except for good manners in responding in chronological order.
Sorry about that, Chief
Call IT VOODOO, I know, it had to be the new CERN LEP Hadron accelerator firing up. Those pesky protons colliding in opposite directions in a 15 mile loop through those "oops, another super-cooled magnet fell from the 300-foot ceiling" things that the former PO'd consortium, including some MIT whizzes, initially dug the tunnel for 300 feet deep and 15 miles in perimeter, and they'd allready progressed to magnet placement when the whole project changed hands, and MIT quipped [para] "All we know is they stole our tunnel..and then asked us to put the magnets in the rest of the way.."...lol... can't say as I blame 'em, but... seems it sent 'dark matter' spewing though the North American Continent.
Spoof statement alert, to the left...If they'd just asked me, I could have told 'em Dark Matter has been known to exist in McDonald's Secret Sauce on the Big Mac for years. Easy.
Anyhoo, sorry for the overlook in proper response order. Nevertheless, as I mentioned as the other reason to post, this is a good illustrator of one of the few fine points of clue rules, and a few other minor things that can throw you, I thought you'd appreciate knowing...
You astutely associated "don't know" thusly: with

(Q115....don't know.... ) ( ...not ....I don't know.... - as I see you highlighted in your "patch" as part of the assumed clue words )
There's a warm wind tonight
And the moon turns the tide
When the stars take their ride she'll be leaving
Where she goes, I don't know (down here, the "I" )

Maybe most helpful of all is the following - the 'dots" clues/rules.I'll show them by writing three fictituous clues just to show dot placement...
Q997....cool lyrics....
Q998....cool end of verse lyrics
Q999 Cool start of verse lyrics....
Above, in 997, dots to left and right, with no caps at start,( unless a proper Noun i.e. Susan would not count) means the word(s) are neither at the end nor the start of the verse....
In 998, There are NO dots to the
right, but there ARE dots to the
left, means the word(s) given ARE at the END of the line of verse.
In Q999 - the capitalized first letter ( and not a proper noun with an explanatory note given), AND NO DOTS to the
left, but there ARE dots to the
right means the line of verse BEGINS with the clue word(s).
Hope that helps. If I give those clues as above, assume there will NOT be another word filling at what you're thinking of as maybe the END or START of a verse, such as the "I" you kinda added in your mind ( it IS in the song) but is does not make the clue "end of verse qualified", per the dots, in that case.
I hope this helps, actually it all makes sense for the players after once or so they actually all have said they thought of a song such as you did, but KNEW per the "dot rules" it could not have been the answer....so , other than a mistake here or there by me, for 120 songs/clues , its gone pretty smooth after we all kinda thought through what ended up as the dot rules...lol
Thanks for playin Jesse Joe.... please play more "Mon amis, pour
le Francaise" - hey how 'bout them French apples now ?
