I hate when you have to do it that way, it is time consuming. Some sites have it where you just click on a link and insert your pictures off your computer, without another site being involved, which is quick and easy.

Hi the "other" John.It was good to meet you on Tuesday,
I believe the "stuffy" problem was in fact merely a case of blocked ear(s)
Yes it is a little time consuming to show pictures here. There are in fact two main methods for displaying a picture.

as you correctly sussed out in order to include a picture within your text or full sized you can only show a picture that is
already on the internet somewhere.Firstly find its address (Uniform Resource Locator or URL) by right clicking on it and selecting "properties" on the right click menu
the address will be shown in the middle of the information screen that will pop up

you simply enclose its URL within a pair of special bulletin board "tags", namely after it, making sure there are no spaces betwen the URL and each tag, and that the URL is valid
For example here is the picture whose properties I used as an example above that I took back in 1999 at Massey on Remembrance Day November 11th (note the poppy)

In that case I used a picture that is already on my own website.
Don't have a website??
three suggestions to overcome that little problem.
Firstly check to see if your Internet Services Provider allows you a (probably limited) amount of free web space as part of your agreement to buy internet access.
- use the free services offerred by any free photo hosting site.
I recommend
which shows you the URL and the bulletin board code complete after uploading, and also has the facility built in to resize your uploaded photo to the user- and bulletin board-friendly maximum of 640 pixels wide
(useful if your magnum opus was taken on a mega pixel camera resulting in a jpg file that is excessively large either in file size (bytes) or dimensions (pixels)
- set up your very own free website.
there are literally millions of options for doing that.
I recommend either http://www.ripway.com or its alternative http://www.fileave.com
both of which allow hotlinking of uploaded files such as jpgs or even mp3s (with a generous space of 32MB or 50MB respectively plus a maximum uploadable filesize of 10MB

the other method for displaying a picture is to use the "attachment" feature of these forums whereby a clickable thumbnail will be appended to your message.
Just scroll down to the box below the reply text box and click on "Manage attachments"
this will allow you to browse your own computer for the desired uploadable picture Noting that plain jane jpgs are linited to only 500K)( but a larger one could be embedded in either a Word document (*.doc)or a Portable Document Format (*.pdf) file, which have larger file limits of 1MB and 2MB respectively.
there is also another Bulletin board tag pair
but I have not tried that myself yet, maybe now is the time to experiment??
Attachment
The tag allows you to display an attachment in your post rather than at the bottom. It will only display attachments that belong to the post in which it is utilized.
Usage
Example Usage Attachment 12345
That description does not make an awful lot of sense to me, although I think I understand the intention!!
