He wrote that back in 2000 or just before from what I recall..They separated again in 2004 I think..maybe late 2003..
I can't stand the thought that his music may someday be the background to some insipid commercials..ugh and ick. And it makes it worse knowing that he says he won't care by then...perhaps he means he'll be long gone but his music is forever and shouldn't be used to shill beer or any product...ever.
He's sounding a bit weary and despondant..
I'm quite sad to hear it..
