Row E, Stage Left...it was great to see Gord again. He played one long set, his usual two dozen or so songs. Took about the first half dozen songs or so for him to loosen up the vocal strings and it is somewhat painful to realize that he can no longer hit a lot of the higher notes and occasionally the voice cuts out. Nevertheless, another great performance from the old master. He gives it his all and, at nearly 70, what more can we ask for? Looking about the arena it was also painfully obvious to realize that the core audience has aged along with Gord and the band. At 53 and 52, my wife and I felt like we were two of the more youthful in the crowd. Set list was very similar to the sets he used earlier this year in Florida. Opened with 14 Karat Gold and wrapped with a double encore, concluding on Old Dan's Records. All in all, a truly enjoyable way to spend the evening. The casino hotel was reasonable and the pre-concert meal we enjoyed in one of their restaurants was pleasant and, with coupons off the internet site, quite a bargain. Didn't catch his name but there was a quite talented young man singing and accompanying himself on guitar throughout our meal, playing a pleasant mix of 60s to current tunes.

To answer some of the earlier posts...Gord typically doesn't do an intermission when playing casino venues. I think he fears losing people during the break to the gaming rooms and then its hard to bring them back in without disrupting the entire audience and "flow" of the second half.
