I can vouch for Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians having a wonderful Christmas album; funny, too. We had one when I was very little, back in the early/mid 50s, which we wore out completely. It had a version of "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer" that owed a lot to Spike Jones. One year my sister Lisa found a cassette version of that album in the discount bin and pawed through until she'd found nine copies, one for each of us. What a hoot!
