Although I couldn't find the post, I believe he changed his name because he had moved from Reno, Nev. to Bend, (Oregon ?).

As far as problems with logging in : I recall that when I switched from dial-up to high speed internet service, and started using a new browser, I was unable to log in using my former screen name. The site viewed me as a new person trying to use an existing screen name. Re-registering with a new screen name solved the problem. For what it's worth....
