Default Re: First date for 2008 confirmed!!!

I simply have to share a dream I very clearly remember from last night with you.
In it somebody(I forget who) passed me a cutting from a UK local Newspaper and I was amazed to read (in very small print looking rather like a want or for sale advert) that Gordon Lightfoot would be appearing in an outside concert (unlikely in rain sodden England) at Sherborne School (for Boys),

Sherborne School The Courts
one of a series of delightful paintings by William Cooper a one time schoolmaster at the School in my home town.

A view of Greenhill at the top of the town showing the old stone building "the Julian"
at one time this housed the town Library
two points to err umm point out
1 Just behind the lady walking in front you can pick out a triangular area built up in the corner. this legend has it was added to prevent that spot being used as a public convenience by gents exiting one of several nearby public houses. OK sorry TMI, I know!!
2 The old timbered building alongside has a shop on the right hand end corner
The last time I was there this was a greengrocer's store, in my school days it was a small corner convenience store not facility run by a character called Eddie Anstey who sold amongst other things cigarettes (I can remember as an impecunious schoolboy buying my first cancer sticks there (Eddie sold Wills Wild Woodbines

the UK's cheapest and nastiest fags in packets of 20,10.5 and even in very small packets containing just 2 I seem to recall )
He also catered to gentlemen's "basic needs for something for the weekend" as they used to be coyly referred to and I remember my best friend Russ being cuffed around the ear when he asked Eddie how the "rubber trade" was going
Anyway back to my dream I could clearly reading then rereading that this concert was to be on July 4th next year at 8PM
I decided to wake Susan and tell her of this momentuous news, but she immediately commented that it must be an error since we had been led to understand by Gord's Manager Barry that they were unlikely to ever go to Europe again as they wanted to only go where there was a good chance of making/not losing money so in the light of this opinion, despite Gord having said a few times that "we must go back to Britain" this is unlikely. Then rarely for a dream I remember thinking "oh well this must be a dream"
I can also remember feeling annoyed because I did not fully read the cutting so missed reading our names which I had "seen" under the date details.
It will be interesting for sure if and when the 2008 full sked_yule is announced seeing just where Gord might be on July 4th!!!
