Default Re: You and Gord Sing a Duet

On the recent leg through Rochester, Minneapolis, Duluth, I pulled out Endless Wire which I had not heard in ages.. I smiled singing along on the harmony lines on Daylight Katy, Sweet Guinnevere, and Hangdog.. (I know that's Gord overdubbing his own harmonies there on that album etc.. and I'm not sure anyone did that better (overdubbing their own 3rds and 5ths etc.)).. but if there was, it might very well have been Tammy Wynette (see the original Stand By Your Man album with Billy Sherill (Epic Records; 1968)), Carly Simon and Joni Mitchell of course (try anything in the 70's by either artist).. Bruce Springsteen (listen to Bruce sing with himself on Darkness or Born To Run etc.).. and Elton John actually.. he's a great harmony singer on top of his own voice (see the beautiful tune Blessed, among many other great tracks through the years).. but anyway.. the Endless Wire stuff.. I'd get up there and sing with the Gord.. sure.. (after several beverages).. etc.. ;-)

PS- The buried gem on Endless Wire it struck me that roadtrip.. is a song called If There's a Reason.. geez Gord.. how lovely.. this blue little lullaby.. etc..
