Factoring in the lasting influence and memories, my vote would also go to 1965. Summers came early in Yuma, Arizona, and it was in that period I first heard the name Gordon Lightfoot. A DJ on a local radio station played Marty Robbins' cover of 'Ribbon of Darkness', and mentioned it was written by Gordon Lightfoot. I thought "Dang ! that Indian really wrote a good song".
