Oh, Dad loved being a farmer, like his father and grandfather were. Dad and his brother Howard farmed together. They were 'incorporated'. At the time, Howard and his wife were into meditation, and used to go to India a couple of times a year to some retreat, leaving Dad and the hired man to do the farm work. It got to the point where Dad and Howard started resenting each other, and could barely discuss farming issues without getting into an argument. And Aaron, my only brother, decided he wanted nothing to do with farming. He went off into a totally different field. He's a mortician. I guess Dad just figured it was a good time to get out of the business.
