A few months back,PBS ran a repeat of one of her comcerts from the early 80's.

Not exactly a show-stopping kind of concert but in more of a simple laid-back lounge style, she totally had the audience's attention.

I'm guessing her unique style is what made her so popular in the 60's & 70's. I can't think of one female performer before her that sounded that way.

She got her biggest #1 hit in Jan. of '86 w/"That's What Friends Are For"(with Elton John,Stevie Wonder & Gladys Knight).

In fact she was one of the 1st women I ever heard, because my mother had the 8-track of the LP,"I'll Never Fall In Love Again". (Which I recently re-found on good vinyl! )

Have all of her top 40's too!
