I prefer either version of "Me and Bobby McGee" by Lightfoot or Joplin. Gordon makes it a laid back story about two friends traveling.
Joplin makes it a he/she relationship and turns it into a full tilt blues rocker that deserved it's #1 status.
Too bad it was posthumous,she sang that song live one time,to a friend in a hotel room in Canada in 1970.
