In Adel, Georgia, at about 2 A.M. this past Saturday morning, a car with 4 teenagers (2 of them were my cousins, one age 16, the other age 21) struck and hit a tree. One of the boys (not my cousin) was killed instantly. I awoke later Sat. morning to hear my Dad tell me that my 2 cousin's had been in a wreck, and the younger one was brain-dead, and the other would be paralyzed from the neck down. I didn't expect my younger cousin to make it, and sure enough, a few hours later, my Mom called and told me he had died. They had decided to 'unplug' him from the ICU unit because he wouldn't be able to live without being hooked up to the machine. Yesterday, (Monday), we went to his funeral. Well, earlier today I just got to visit my older cousin, who was also in intensive care, and they've decided that they would have to unplug him too sometime tonight (don't know if it's already happened or not). It was a weird feeling, seeing him layed up there, hearing that machine click as it breathed for him, and as I walked out the room, knowing it'd be the last time I'd ever see him alive. I thought I'd tell you all this so maybe you could a a prayer or two for us.
The only thing worse than having to go to a funeral is having to go to
two funerals (insided of one week!)
