As for the Avenger's stars I expect that they are all still alive J-J. For myself I think in retrospect that I preferred the sequel about which I read on:-

The New Avengers only actually ran for two seasons, producing a total of twenty-six episodes, seven of which were made with overseas finance. This lead to three of the episodes being based in France, and four of them in Canada."
I guess that the original Mrs Peel/Rigg series was popular in Canada which would explain the financing of the four New Avenger episodes being based in Canada,did you see them.(I do not now recall Canada being involved, where were they located any idea J-J??)
I was surprised to read that it only ran for two seasons (must be due to the deep impact Purdy had on us especially Joanna Lumley's hair style including of course Princess Diana
