Hey Charlene- that's just great. He is talented there's no doubt about that. The song 'Lightfoot,' which he wrote for Gordy, is amazing to say the least.
The first time I heard it, I was at Frank's music, and I dont have to tell you what I was doing there. LOL :D
And the CD Beautiful, A Tribute To Gordon Lightfoot, was just out, and the owner being a Lightfoot fan was playing it in the store. I almost fell to the floor when this track came on.
I almost told everyone in the store to shut up. But since Im a nice guy, :D and couldn't do that, I did the next best thing. I moved closer to the speakers.
And all those lines, coming out of the speakers one after the other, I tell you, what a beautiful gift for the magical Gordon Lightfoot.
I know JP. Cormier made Lightfoot cry when he heard his rendition of 'The Poet,' live in Toronto. JP, said in an interview that it was very hard to do in front of the man. Maybe you were there Char?
Im listening to the Tribute one right now, it's Ron doing Drifters.
