Boderstone, that one really painted a picture for me! That is what great poetry is all about! Unlike sory writers, we have to tell the entire storyline, including painting the picture for the reader, in only a few short verses. Writing songs that are "radio friendly" is even more restricting, as there is traditionally a 3 - 4 minute length allowed. That means the lyric portion get even smaller as you add musical intros/middles/outros. Listen to a Gord song, other than CRRT, and you will see what I mean.
