"I Know You'll Be A Friend"
All of life is a roundabout, dizzy dreaming dance of fate.
A song to hear,a movie to view,to pass the time as we wait.
So while we're waiting for the next bus or plane, taxi and train,
let's make it worth our while,so that it isn't all done in vain.
All in good time we discover, the up's & downs and turn arounds,
the ins,the outs and it's all about as good as it really sounds.
Listen up closely to the sounds you hear and drum along with the muse,
then make sure you look before you lash out,so as not to confuse.
All which we know,is obviously apparent,to anyone who's got the knack,
of life and living it to the fullest, pulling the high card from the stack.
Solitare and solitude's stagnation, leave you standing so very, all alone.
Not to sound corny or cliche'ed,I'm always as near to you as your phone.
People are prone to dancing around the truth, acting a part given to play,
until it all comes down to too much talking and then they're walking away!
Real is real and you and I have always been that deal,so real to the end.
Chapter one is the beginning but only we can write the end.
For all that goes on in between,I know you'll be a friend.
I know you'll be a friend, for all that goes on in betwween.
Yes,only we can write the end, chapter one's only the beginning scene.
From chapter one until the stories end,I know you'll be,you'll be a friend.
(I wrote this song in 1996.) Been me. Later!
