Tom,

I agree, Gord is every bit the gentleman. HOWEVER, we're talking about a film role here. Gord could very easily play the "crusty" Quint. Gord is very nice to everyone around him, but believe me, you cross him and you see a very different man. And he says what he feels. He's outspoken to a point. He would never go off on you for no good reason, but if there's a need for it, he definitely WILL put you in your place albeit in a polite way.

Hooper was a yuppie. Gord is no way NEAR being a yuppie. I don't really think he could pull off that kind of role. I know that in the "Hotel" episode, there was a scene where he had to "shake" his son in anger and he didn't get it right. You could just tell that he was doing something totally out of his nature. He didn't pull it off at ALL. And he wouldn't be able to do Hooper either.

But I really CAN picture him in the role of Quint. Gord is stubborn like that and yeah, he could be the way Quint was. I think he'd have fun PLAYING that role.
