I have never met Gordon, although I have been to dozens of concerts in California and Ohio. No doubt I would be speechless if I had the opportunity anyway. In high school, my mom took me out of school early one day because the Chicago White Sox were in town to play the Cleveland Indians. (We lived in Ohio for a few years until we moved back to my native California.) My favorite player, Ken Henderson, was then on the White Sox, so we went early during batting practice. The idea was I would go up to him and have a witty conversation about how he was my favorite player from when he was on the SF Giants, and I was from the Bay Area, etc. etc. We got there, I saw him, called his name, held out a pen and paper, got his autograph, and was unable to utter a single word! I'm sure I'd get even more tounge-tied with Gordon, whom I have loved since the summer after 8th grade, when my sister came home from coolege with Sit Down Young Stranger (or should I say, SDYS? Thanks for the abbreviations tip!)

And the smilies tip!
