Along those lines:
In all my (many) years of theatre and concert-going, it has never before occurred to me to go back stage or even wait at a stage door.
However, in Concord, a very sweet woman who was sitting in the audience near us,
(with whom my husband and I had been having pleasant conversation before the concert and during the break) just out of the blue, without us asking for anything, said to us
"Would you like to meet GL?" Well, who can say
"no" to that?
Then she practically took us by the hand and lead us to the stage door where we waited, along with a small group of other concert-goers, to meet the man himself. A special experience and a great memory.
So, yes, Charlene, I agree, I look on this as an "unexpected gift" (that I wouldn't mind repeating) :D
