Got to see him 2 or 3 times during that period in Philadelphia. That was when Sundown was new and popular. We had great seats and got some photos. I remember being enthralled. He played the piano at one concert doing Fine As Fine Can Be which he said he had written for his daughter and hadn't been recorded yet. When I talk with friends about those days, we realize how lucky we were (and how much time has passed for all of us). We also used to sneak out and go to a small coffee house where we saw other folk singers including Tom Rush, Tom Paxton, Tom Chapin, and Tom Waits (the Toms). I now fully appreciate the talent we were exposed but not sure we realized it then. I still listen to all of them although Gord rules! My folks still don't know about the sneakin out so I won't divulge my identity. We couldn't have gotten a better education in any school.
