Mr. H & H....I'd have to say that when I read your comments I felt shivers up my spine. I'm a true romantic at heart and the way Gord writes and plays is the way I'd love to play for my lady. Call it envy, respect, admiration or what you may (on my part) Gord certainly has a special way.

While living in San Diego I saw Gord perform twice at Golden Hall. The first time was in April of 75 and the second time was in April of 76. For one of the concerts I managed to get 10 front row seats. Just my wife and I and 8 of our closest friends. By that time I had been a Lightfoot fan for 10 years. All of my friends were just humoring me as most of them were not familiar with Gord at all. As it turned out it was one of those magical/musical nights that I will never forget. Gord always puts on a great concert but on this particular night he was really "ON" and the band was just as hot as he was. When he sang "All the lovely ladies in their finery tonight---I wish that I could know you one by one ---and all the handsome gentlemen with lovin' on their minds ---" as he was looking at us in the front row I was watching my friends and realized that they were spellbound by the words, the music and Gord's presence. Needless to say that by the end of the concert Gord had converted these 8 people to lifelong fans and they finally understood why I was so dedicated to his music. The next most magical concert that I have seen was the Reno concert in April 2000, But that's another story for another time.
