I read
"Dan Seals, the brother of Jim Seals of equally successful 1970s soft-rock duo Seals & Crofts"
and:-
"Seals' childhood nickname was "England Dan" because he was a huge fan of the Beatles. John Colley's last name was shortened to "Coley" for ease of pronunciation; "Ford" was added as his middle name for flow purposes, thus England Dan and John Ford Coley"
and I had always wondered what the significence of the "England" was
