>>>That being said, it disappoints me to see how those who frequent this Board treat anyone who falls short of literally worshipping the ground Gord walks on
hmm, i hear ya but you're like TimmyB with that over-generalization, folks here don't mind some stimulating and honest difference of opinion, that's actually how i arrived here, full of constructive critisism of Gord-related decisions but they were stated with my cards on the table, without deceit (honest, as lsh put it)....i take offense to TimmyB saying the I (or we) are "like-minded" because that is not true at all
reading his entire post, he was already fed up with GL after his second concert in late 90's and only went to the show in Hamilton because it was 5 minutes around the corner...he apparently goes to about 50 shows a year, has seen Dylan and Young like 30+ times, etc, etc...whatever
i was wondering if any folks at one of our "sister" boards ie. the Blue Rodeo board (which i consider Canada's Band the same way I consider Gord Canada's Singer/Songwriter) had seen and reviewed the Gord gig and I just happened to stumble on the TimmyB post...i thought it was sad that he thought he couldn't post his feelings to an adoring, fun, often rediculous BUT mature group of folks over here...we'll never know how his HONEST post would have gone over, we'll never know...the comment that Gord should not be "headlining" made me laff out loud actually, it was so ignorant and i'll bet the Health Sciences folks would be happy to give back TimmyB's portion of the net proceeds if he felt ripped off at all during that special evening, he unfortuantely missed the spirit of the whole evening...i was never mad at Timmy, just disappointed and feel kinda bad for him, not like-minded at all with the majority that i've come to know and respect here, no siree...insulting, yes siree
ps) we're older TimmyB, yes and maybe silent cos we like to listen, but ya won't find folks who are younger at heart, and bigger hearted
