Re the quiz: I am new here and may not know a lot about GL, but I would like to learn. I took the quiz, knew some things, guessed others, and scored a grudgingly respectable 7/10. But how do I know which seven? The right answers never appear to be given.

So I'm home. Brother picked me up at the bus station, I told him what had happened and read him my handwritten copy of the letter I posted. He hasn't stopped singing Carefree Highway to himself since; figured out which song it was from the word "damned." I played him songs off Songbook as we drove to the house. I noticed he had every lyric to Sundown on ice, and he was what, maybe five or six when it came out? Even songs he'd never heard before, he could sing with by the end of 'em. He's obviously a fan too.

Which brings me to my topic. He and I got to wondering. Grateful Dead fans are called Deadheads. Star Trek fans are called Trekkies. Are Gordon Lightfoot fans already called anything? Because if we don't have a collective nickname already, I've got a suggestion. (My mother nominates maybe Footprints, but I have another idea.)

Some of us have experienced a "Gordon Lightfoot Moment," in which he has somehow affected our very lives. Expand the initials of "Gordon Lightfoot Moment," and you could get the word "glimmer," which connects to the "light" in Lightfoot. So are we "glimmers?"

Or maybe we're Footprints.

Or is the whole idea for the birds?
