Re: Chicago Tribune: 40 years later, ship's legend lives on in a Gordon Lightfoot so

This is an event that will never be forgotten, yet I am still amazed at its longevity.

RIP.

Re: MacleansMagazine-March 1987 LIGHTFOOT article

"He might even reconsider his decision not to record again."!!!

And we got 3 original albums after 1987. Thank Heaven for that!

Re: TorontoStar-TheCityMag-Apr.1978 LIGHTFOOT article

Good point, Steve. The article did an appropriate job of showing several sides of a human being. And it's all perfectly "normal" (for lack of a better word). After all, we all wear different hats....

Re: WHAT ???? Lightfoot is a Sakatchestanian ??????

Oh, wow!!

I was born in Orillia, was briefly married to a Swedish woman, and now I live in Saskatchewan.

Gord and I are 3/3. Pity I have no musical talent... :)

November 3rd is a special day!

Yes, indeed. It is both Housewife Day and Sandwich Day. So how was I to celebrate? I asked my wife to make me a Club Sandwich.

I'm still doubled over in agony, but at least my voice is back to...

Re: Smart phone proves great source for finding most recent GL news/articles

Yup. I got a smartphone back in late June. I absolutely love it. About the only thing it doesn't do is make coffee, which is a very good thing considering I can't stand the wretched muck!

Re: For anyone that can appreciate it

But it WAS an act of war. Look at all the French riots in the 60s and 70s. Now we know the REAL reason... :)

Re: Top 10 Lightfoot Songs as Voted by Canadians in 1988

The biggest problem for me is that a favourite list can change from day-to-day, or even moment-to-moment. At a guess, I probably like or love about 80% of his catalogue, with about half of those...

Re: What's An Oldie Anymore Anyway?

Good link, thank you.

I consider an oldie to be two things:

1. It sounds dated regardless of the era - and this is pretty much a constant for my personal definition.

2. This one has a bit...

Re: Which Lightfoot Do You Like Best?

I'll approach this from the opposite direction. My least favourite period, which is still better than 95% of anything else that's out there, would be mid-80s to late 90s (East of Midnight to...

Re: new 2011 dates -FLORIDA in MARCH 2011

But I'm stuck here in the snows, where...

Re: All the Lovely ladies Have a great Mother's Day

Well, my Mom is still kicking at 87. We just had our regular Sunday aft chat and all seems ok. I lost my Dad to prostate cancer in 1985, and just like Patti's Dad, mine was at the tender age of 65....
